Formally known as lantern and lit by fire for providing us light is now revolutionized into a modern terminology is known as Lamp. This lamp is functioned by fixing an electric bulb in it and then connecting it to a circuit switch. While being used as a light source they can even be kept as decorative items in any corner or part of house. They play an important role in adding to the beauty of the room, they are also available in various different shapes, sizes and colors. Some are designed to hang down from the roof or to be fixed in the wall yet others are provided with a stand, which supports them to stand on the floor or table. The lamp shown here has a beautifully carved stand while its glass shade is painted in different colors. Its quality is that when light will pass through these colors it will give out its respective color in the room. Hence, lamp shades are commonly used in our homes to increase the beauty of the halls.
